Tickets price changes


This weekend in Moscow is expected heavy snowfall. So it is better to ride around the city by public transport. We remind you that the first of January changed tariffs on tickets.

The Cost of the ticket for one trip in Moscow Metro since January 1, 2014 has increased to 40 rubles. The ticket for two trip costs 80 rubles, respectively. Journey by trams, buses and trolleybuses has risen in price: one trip costs 35 rubles, and two — 60.

The deputy mayor of Moscow, the head of department of transport and development of road and transport infrastructure Maxim Liksutov explained that the change in price happens according to a course on reduction of a turn of paper tickets which has to promote reduction of turns, economy of budgetary funds and nature preservation.

The research done by the Economist shows the total cost of buying a family car (an average of low- and high-end brands) in selected cities in 2010, then running it for three years. It is good and somewhat suprising news that Moscow has not made to 5 – being number 8.
